Taxi Butler PAY is our latest feature that lets you accept contactless payments directly on payment-enabled Taxi Butlers. You can even choose to add a booking fee and start making money on every booking.
People inside venues like hotels, can pay for a taxi upfront using payment-enabled Taxi Butler devices.
Enter booking fields
Any required bookings fields must be entered. The destination is always required so that the fare can be estimated. The guest can also choose to receive their payment ticket via email.
Fare is estimated
Using the device’s preset pick-up address and the destination enter, the fare amount is estimated using your dispatch system. Any fixed fares, zoning prices, etc. are taken from your dispatch system.
Total amount calculated
Any booking fees that you have set will be added to calculate the final “total amount to be paid”.
Accept the terms & conditions
Any associated terms & conditions must be accepted before proceeding.
Tap to pay
The guest taps their contactless payment method on the NFC reader on the top of the device.
Payment is authorised
At this point, the payment method is authorised and the fare amount is reserved.
Ticket is printed
As soon as the payment is authorised, a ticket will be printed.
Track the taxi
Guests can scan the QR code on-screen or on the ticket to track their taxi from their mobile phone.
Passenger arrives
As soon as the passenger arrives at their destination, the full amount is captured from the passenger’s bank account.
Receive the payout
You’ll receive a payout for the full amount (fare + booking fee) within a few business days. You pocket your part of the booking fee and pay out the fare amount to the driver.

Before you can start accepting payments, you must:
To create a merchant account with our payment processor, you’ll have to confirm some of your business’ details.
To start accepting payments on your devices, you must complete our payment processor’s Know Your Customer (KYC) business verification process.
You’ll receive a unique link from us that directs you to our payment processor’s business verification process. This process includes checking your personal and company details, uploading identification documents, verifying bank details and signing a service agreement.
The approval, verifications and checks of this information, data and documents are handled entirely by our payment processor.
Taxi Butler does not see, store or process this information.
As soon as the business verification process is complete, we’ll be notified by our payment processor and continue onboarding you.
Now that your business verification is complete, you’ll be able to configure your venues and payment-enabled devices in the PORTAL and set up vehicle types, destinations, etc.
To configure your devices in the PORTAL, simply follow this guide.
A booking fee is a fee, set by yourself, which is added on top of the fare amount. The fare amount is also paid out to you, which you must pay out to the driver.
It is your responsibility to handle and process any refunds to passengers. To do so, you must log in to the PORTAL and use the “Refund” button.
